Privacy Policy

Church Bulletin Templates is a static website. There are no accounts, no logins, no forms and no database of visitors. This page explains what is and isn't collected, and by whom.
Downloads
The templates are ordinary Word files. Downloading one doesn't require a name or an email address, and the files contain no tracking of any kind. What you type into a template stays in the file on your computer, or in your Google Drive if you upload it there.
The church-year dates
The list of upcoming dates on the home page is worked out by your browser from your computer's date. Nothing about it is sent to us or anyone else.
Cookies and advertising
This site is paid for by advertising and shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, and may use information about your visits to this and other websites to show ads that are relevant to you.
You can control this. Personalized advertising can be turned off at Google Ads Settings, and industry-wide opt-outs are available at youradchoices.com and youronlinechoices.eu. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Ads are not shown on this page, the about page or the contact page.
Fonts and hosting
Every request your browser makes to a website includes your IP address, so the server knows where to send its reply, and usually also says which browser you use and which page you came from (Google explains this). Two kinds of server receive those requests here.
Hosting. This site is hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify). Amplify keeps access logs with information about the requests made to the site, and keeps them for as long as the site is hosted there (AWS documentation). This site doesn't use those logs to identify visitors.
Fonts. The two typefaces on these pages, Atkinson Hyperlegible and Source Serif 4, are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also asks Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) for them, on every page including this one. Google says those requests include your IP address, the address of the font file, your browser's details and the page being viewed; that the Google Fonts API "does not set or log cookies"; and that Google does not use this information "to create profiles of end users or for targeted advertising" (Google Fonts FAQ).
Analytics
This site doesn't currently use an analytics service. If one is added, this section will say which one and what it records.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU or the EEA, the GDPR gives you rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction and erasure. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you similar rights, including the right to know what is collected and to opt out of its sale. This site doesn't sell personal information. Because there are no accounts here, we hold no personal records about visitors to retrieve; requests about data held by our advertising provider can be made to Google, or to us, and we'll point you to the right place.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We don't add anyone to a mailing list; there isn't one.
Children
This site is written for adults who make church and club publications. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other sites
The guides link to Microsoft, Google, LibreOffice, licensing organizations and other sites. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them; this one doesn't.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the date at the top changes with it.
