About
Church Bulletin Templates offers free Microsoft Word templates for the papers that churches and clubs print every week: bulletins, newsletters, programs, prayer lists and announcements. It exists because Microsoft retired Publisher in October 2026, and a great many church secretaries, newsletter editors and volunteers built their weekly papers in it.
What's here
10 templates, each a real .docx file with its own page explaining how to fill it in, open it in Google Docs or LibreOffice, and print it. And 5 guides: opening old Publisher files, choosing a replacement, printing folded booklets, printing address labels, and hymns and copyright.
Who runs it
Church Bulletin Templates is an independent site, written and maintained by one person. It isn't run by a church or a denomination, and it isn't affiliated with Microsoft, Google, The Document Foundation, CCLI, ONE LICENSE or any other organization it mentions. It's paid for by advertising, which is why you'll see ads on the template pages and guides (never on this page, the privacy page or the contact page).
How the content is checked
Every fact that could change, such as a date, a menu name or a license term, is checked against its source, and each guide shows the date its sources were last checked. The list of sources, with what each one supports and how it was checked, is kept with the site and updated when a page is reviewed. Rebuilding the site doesn't count as re-checking it.
The templates are generated by a small script, converted to Word format by LibreOffice, then converted back to PDF to make sure each file opens cleanly. Each file is also opened in Microsoft Word for Mac and saved as a PDF there, to check that Word opens it without a repair message and lays out the same pages. The preview pictures come from the LibreOffice PDFs.
Using the templates
The templates are free to download, change, print and share within your church, club or family. You don't need to credit this site. Please link to a template's page rather than re-posting the file somewhere else, so people always get the current version.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, whether it's a menu that has moved, a broken link or a mistake in a template, please tell us. Corrections are made promptly, and a guide's "last checked" date changes when its sources are checked again.
Affiliate links
There are no affiliate links on this site today. If any are added, they'll be limited to things a guide already recommends on its merits (such as label sheets), and this paragraph will change to say so.
